Office 365 source server connection
EdbMails securely connects to the Office 365 source server using modern authentication protocols such as MSAL (Microsoft Authentication Library), OAuth 2.0, and TLS encryption. Authentication is carried out on the Microsoft Sign-In page, ensuring your sensitive login information is never stored within EdbMails, maintaining high security throughout the migration process. By using MSAL, OAuth 2.0, and TLS encryption, EdbMails ensures reliable and secure access to your Office 365 data, enhancing both security and privacy.
In the EdbMails ‘Connect to Office 365 (Source)’ window, you have the below options:
Auto Registration
EdbMails automatically handles the application registration within your Entra ID (Azure Active Directory). The ‘Auto Registration’ method requires Global admin access.
Manual Registration
If you want to manually register the EdbMails migration application within your Entra ID (Azure AD), opt for manual registration and click the ‘Next’ button. You can use either a Global admin account or any user account with full access rights for the Manual Registration method.

Selection of Mailbox loading option
If you have already established an Office 365 connection with EdbMails, the mailboxes list will be saved. You can use the same list. If you are establishing a new connection, click the ‘No’ button to get the mailbox loading options.
EdbMails Automatically loads mailboxes from your source Office 365 server. If you are unable to list the required mailboxes using the automatic mailbox loading option you can use the CSV file to load the mailboxes. You can also choose the option to load the mailboxes from a previously stored list.
